How to Roast a Pumpkin + Pumpkin Seeds

Updated: Aug 28, 2019

I would say most if not all of the recent recipes I have posted involve pumpkin. Who doesn't love to use fresh pumpkin in their recipes? I have used regular canned pumpkin and I get shocked by the difference in color every single time. Roasting pumpkin is actually quite easy and if you save the pumpkin seeds, you get an amazing snack that you can roast and enjoy in just a few simple steps.

Step 1: Cut the pumpkin in half.

Step 2: Remove the seeds. Place the seeds in a bowl with water. This makes it easier to remove the remaining pumpkin flesh.

Step 3: Roast.

You can season your seeds any way you like, opting for a savory flavor profile—think cumin and coriander—or a sweet combination, like cinnamon and ginger, or even a spicy combo- cayenne and chili.
